With the race dropping to just the 5k race, whether you signed up for just the 10k or you were taking on both races, you can still participate in this year’s run. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to run two laps of the course. With that said, you may be wondering to yourself, I paid extra to do the 10k, what happens to those fees. You have a few options
Option 1: Run the in-person event
Since a majority of your race fee goes to helping The Brainy Day Fund, we hope you’ll decide to race with us and donate the additional funds to supporting our local programs.
Option 2: Transfer to the 2020 Brainy Day Virtual Run
September was designated by the United States Congress as National Hydrocephalus Awareness Month. This year, we are partnering with the Michigan Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation to host this new virtual experience. There are a few options for participating, you can read this post to learn more about it. If you decide to do the Virtual Run instead of the In-Person event, we will allow a free transfer to the virtual event. To be considered for a free transfer, you must make a decision by June 1.
Please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to transfer to the Brainy Day Virtual Run/Walk.
Option 3: Defer to 2021
We understand you may not want to run this year and you may not like virtual runs. If that is the case, you can defer to next year. Deferments will only be allowed until June 1.
Please send a note to email@example.com if you plan to defer to 2021.
Option 4: Refund your race fee
This is definitely an unprecedented race season and we totally understand if you just want to pack it all up in a box and forget about it. For that reason, we are offering a limited refund timeframe. Since we are cancelling the 10k race, if you would like a refund, you’ll have that option until June 1.
Please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to get a refund.
